Job Title: Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

Location: Manchester

Salary: £45k + Company Car

Are you an experienced Production Manager with a passion for excellence in the food manufacturing industry? This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced FMCG environment, focusing on high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Organise and manage production staff rotas to ensure optimal staffing levels and productivity. Oversee team discipline, training, and morale, working closely with HR and senior management.
  • Operational Efficiency: Manage day-to-day operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring smooth workflows between production, engineering, and distribution teams.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide detailed financial and performance reports to the Operations MD and other key stakeholders, offering insights for continuous improvement.
  • Production Planning: Ensure all despatch orders are efficiently processed, with comprehensive daily and weekly production plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain and improve product quality by adhering to strict food safety regulations (STS, SALS, HCCA), ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Equipment & Maintenance: Ensure that all machinery, buildings, and ancillary equipment are maintained to the highest standards, and that staff are adequately trained in their operation.
  • Health & Safety: Create a clean, safe, and hygienic production environment, adhering to all relevant safety standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar leadership role in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food production processes, with a focus on efficiency and safety.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, improving productivity, and optimising workflows.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a strong focus on collaboration.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in food production.
